Transport for London
Engagement is one of the top business priorities for Transport for London, and we have been involved in project managing four programmes to help develop better two way communication across the organisation
1. Brand values
The new TfL brand values were designed, but needed to be bought to life in a practical and realistic way, across a diverse organisation. We developed and implemented a strategy to embed the brand in all core activities, including managers reward programmes, staff training, manager development, new starter inductions and roadshows.
"Having designed a new set of brand values, we needed help in bringing them to life in a practical, relevant and engaging way. Over the last eighteen months Hamish Haynes has done an excellent job in working with our key stakeholders across Transport for London to develop core programmes that reflect the new behaviours and bring them to life for our people.
From our senior manager reward framework and core competencies to our intranet, training and induction courses, Hamish's work has helped to develop and integrate a suite of HR programmes that bring our values to life for our people. This is a significant step forward and a great foundation for the new brand launch later in the year."

2. Employee Engagement Framework
Working with the Employee Relations team, we developed a framework for employee engagement that is being used as a template across both group and Surface Transport.
"I would like to thank you for the significant contribution you have made in getting employee engagement on both the business and strategic HR agenda. I am so grateful for the work you have done and the enthusiasm you have shown throughout your assignment with TfL Group Employee Relations & Policy. Thank you!
MB - Head of Group Employee Relations and Policy
3. Employee engagement in Bus Operations
Bus Operations are responsible for the effective running of London's bus stations, stops and routes. They have an extremely responsible job dealing with one of the most complex and busy traffic systems in the world, and clearly good communication across the staff is key. We ran a large number of focus groups to speak to 1 in 6 members of staff, and are currently implementing a series of measures to ensure good two way communication flows freely.
3. Stakeholder engagement
The Surface Transport team are relocating to south London, and good engagement is the key to ensuring the move is a success. We are involved in all aspects of this move, from developing communications to creating interactive intranet Q&A systems.
